Whai (Stingray) Skateboard deck Art
Seeing stingrays in Wellington harbour is always a special moment, watching their graceful movements through the water. In Māori culture, stingrays (whai) are often seen as guardian animals, representing strength, protection, and guidance. Some stories tell of them as kaitiaki (spiritual guardians) of certain places or people, watching over those who share the waters with them. Each sighting feels like a blessing, a quiet reminder of the deep connection between the land, sea, and those who inhabit it. No matter how many times we see them, we are always delighted, pausing to watch as they move with quiet wisdom through their watery world.

Wood and paper lino print
Custom skate decks using a range of my original lino print art. Lino is printed onto super lightweight 45gsm paper and then cut and overlaid on to either bare wood or painted skate deck, in the street art “paste -up” style.
Each piece is a handmade unique print and original artwork. Because of its handmade nature there may be tiny variations to the picture shown, be this colour, evenness of ink or other small difference.
Please contact me to discuss different colour ways or commissions.
